The Navajo admired the black and blue striped blankets that the Hopi (Moki) men wove and they adapted that style to their weavings. This adaptation used the black and blue stripes as the background with an overlay of Spider Woman crosses and diamonds. The material is 4 ply Germantown woolen yarn. Circa 1880's
