    Wallace Nez

    Wallace Nez, originally from Aneth, Utah has over 16 years of experience as a Navajo potter. Wallace was raised by loving grandparents, Roy Harvey and the late Daisy J. Harvey, to whom he dedicates his success in pottery.

    Wallace became interested in art at an early age. Wallace involved himself in pencil sketching and ceramic projects. He formed his pottery by the traditional method , coil and pinch, working with traditional clay. His designs are traditional and transform into the future. Wallace sold his first piece at the age of 12.

    At 15, he was awarded one of the top five Entrepreneurial awards given in the state of Utah. It was this award that encouraged him to become committed to his pursuit of excellence in pottery. Later, Wallace received many more awards. Some of his most notable awards are; First Place Ribbons at Santa Fe Indian Market in 1999, 2000 and 2001. He also won BEST OF DIVISION at the Museum of Northern Arizona Navajo show in 1999.

    Wallace’s work is carried in many museums and acquired by many collectors. His dedication and passion shows in every piece of his work.
