Germantown Revival

Charlene Laughing

Charlene has created a unique take on the old Germantown designs from the era around the turn of the 19-20th century. She has taken the serrate design and color palette common to Germantown weavings and applied it to the horizontal stripes of the blanket era ending up with a contemporary design all her own. This weaving also features crosses in two corners that represent Spider Woman who is said to be responsible for teaching the Navajo the art of weaving.
